5 Facial Flaws That Can Be Treated With Laser Skin Rejuvenation

After decades of daily sun exposure, inconsistent skincare practices and the natural process of aging, your complexion is bound to end up sporting its share of flaws. But there’s no reason that you have to live with them. While best known for its effectiveness as an anti-wrinkle treatment, laser facial rejuvenation is also a safe, effective way to minimize the appearance of common facial flaws. Unlike topical creams and surface skin treatments, laser treatments work both on and below the skin’s surface to help erase minor flaws that can mar your complexion.

How Lasers Work

Lasers use concentrated beams of light to remove damaged or flawed skin. The precision of lasers allows for targeted treatment of specific areas of concern. As the laser passes over your skin’s surface, it simultaneously removes the outer layer of the skin, while heating the underlying layer of skin. This combination stimulates your skin’s natural healing process, and promotes the growth of new collagen fibers which help your skin appear more plumped and firm after the treatment.

Common facial flaws treated by lasers are acne scars, sun damage spots, birthmarks, rosacea (red spots) and spider veins. At Estetica Institute, we have the newest technology in lasers available,  The Excel V Laser from Cutera being one of them.

What is Excel V?

Excel V is the most advanced aesthetic technology that combines two powerfully precise lasers to target and eliminate vascular concerns (redness, unsightly veins) and benign pigmented lesions (age spots, sun spots, discoloration) on the face and body.

What does Excel V treat?

Excel V treats nearly twenty unique aesthetic and dermatologic skin concerns. The most common excel V treatments include rosacea, facial and leg veins, age/brown spots, and acne scars.

How does Excel V work?

Dr. DeLange will customize the treatment settings to target the color and depth of your skin and concern. Most treatments are complete within minutes.

Why is Excel V so great?

For most procedures, Excel V provides quick treatments with best results within just a few days. Most procedures take only take 5 to 10 minutes but some may take up to 45 minutes.

How many treatments are required?

Most treatments require only one to two treatment sessions. The number of treatments will vary based on your condition. Dr. DeLange will discuss a customized treatment plan with you during your complimentary consultation.

What are the side effects and downtime?

Redness and/or swelling can be expected following treatment and will resolve within a few days. Treated brown spots will darken but will disappear within 3 to 6 days. Typically, you can wear make-up and return to normal activities immediately.

There is no better time to reverse the signs of aging without going under the knife. To schedule complimentary consultation, call us at 561-776-9555.

Women and Hair Transplants

Women have always yearned to have beautiful thick, full hair. Regardless of length, style or color, a full head of hair is always in style. Like men, women may suffer from hair thinning and loss. As a solution, some ladies look into hair transplant or Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).

What is A Hair Transplant?

A hair transplant, also known as follicular unit extraction or FUE, is a medical procedure where a physician surgically moves  hair follicles from one area to another area for growth. Doctors take the needed follicles and then graft them in the area where the patient has a need for new hair growth. Physicians arrange the grafts in a random pattern so the hair looks natural as it begins to grow back.

Are transplants for women different than transplants for men?

Transplants for women are gaining popularity as they are somewhat newer, but they are no different than those from men. Doctors do give extra attention to how female physiology can influence hair growth and healing of the graft.

What type of woman is a good candidate for a hair transplant?

In general, women whom suffer from hair loss in any particular area of the scalp are good candidates. Women who have female-pattern baldness also are good candidates. Hair loss that is generalized over the entire scalp is much harder to treat, but not impossible. It is important to see a physician that specializes in hair transplants to be sure you are receiving the highest level of expertise and attention to detail.

What should I expect after surgery and what are the benefits

Just like men, women sometimes do experience side effects from hair transplants. These tend to be minor and are not permanent. Examples of side effects women may experience include numbness or tenderness of the scalp, redness, and possible itching. After surgery, Dr. DeLange suggests using a unique formula for post operative care. This formula consist of copper tri-peptide technology, sea kelp extracts and keratinocyte growth factors. To make sure your recovery  is nothing less than perfect and as easy as can be, Dr. DeLange is happy to provide this to every hair transplant surgery patient.  Hair transplants for woman can be life changing (in a good way of course)! When a woman goes through the process of a hair transplant, the extra hair growth gives her style more volume and dimension to her hair. In a recent study, about 41% of  hair transplant surgeries in 2016 throughout the United States were women. Don’t let hair loss stand in the way of feeling and looking your best!

Wrinkle Fillers at Estetica Institute of the Palm Beaches

The Most Underrated Procedure for Dermal Fillers

As we age, we lose volume in our temples.  An often overlooked area of facial aging is a hollow temple. Your normal fat pads and muscle mass may decrease with time leaving a deepening depression on the side of your forehead which subtly ages you. Temples are present on the sides of our eyes and are considered as the first areas to show signs of aging. Over the time, our cheeks lose definition, the bone and soft tissue dissolves which creates loss of volume, folds, lines and wrinkles in the skin. Those patients who keep themselves very lean are the hardest hit in the temples. Dr. DeLange  and The Estetica Institute can provide you with an optimum solution for treating these hollow areas, lines and wrinkles.

What Dermal Fillers Do?

At Estetica Institute , we provide you with a non-surgical treatment options using dermal fillers for treating the temple area as well as other areas of the face, which helps in restoring the lost volume. Most people think that fine lines and wrinkles make them look tired, sad, or older than their actual age. In reality, loss of volume in your face plays a majority of the roll for aging. With the help of dermal fillers, it becomes very easy to replace the volume loss in temples, as well as other areas. The treatment procedure is carried out by injecting dermal fillers into the targeted area(s). Dermal fillers such as Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane and Radiesse help in rejuvenating the areas giving you a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Treatment Time

Dermal fillers are painless and take 30 minutes to one hour approximately and provide immediate results. Unlike surgery, there is very little to no down time. Fillers and Botox are fantastic options for those wishing to get rid of wrinkles without going under the knife!

After Treatment Car

Dermal fillers are safe to use and there are no major complications associated with these treatments. Temporary redness and swelling on the treated area may occur which is a short-term side effect and will disappear.

Is Preventative Botox Worth the Hype?

Preventative Botox

In the past, Botox was considered as one of those things that many people will only need to think about 20 years down the line. Largely used by an older demographic to smooth the signs of aging, Botox is gaining new traction with a much younger crowd. Preventive – or preventative – Botox is now being used by women in their late twenties to early thirties to stop wrinkles before they start.

People develop wrinkles because, over time, skin weakens and can’t effectively bounce back from folding caused by laughing, smiling, furrowing your brow, and all the other motions your face makes on a regular basis. Rather than using Botox to smooth existing wrinkles, it is now being used to relax these facial muscles so that wrinkles do not form in the first place. By using discrete, precise Botox injections, doctors can target specific muscles that may be pulling in an undesired direction and allow these muscles to work more evenly.

Preventative Botox helps to relax and retrain facial muscles, preventing formation of dynamic wrinkles that are caused by small, consistent muscle movements. These areas typically include the sides of the mouth and eyes, between the brows, and across the forehead. “Freezing” the muscles in these areas of the face prevents their movement and resulting wrinkles.

While experts say preventative Botox really works at reversing mild lines and preventing others from developing, it may not be for everyone. The earliest signs of wrinkles can be lingering creases from facial expressions, or resting wrinkles. Just furrowed your brow? If the lines linger, it may be safe to assume wrinkles are beginning to develop; If your skin bounces back quickly, you don’t need to consider Botox just yet.

Often a plastic surgeon can tell where Botox would be most beneficial just by looking at your face during a consultation. At Estetica Institute, you will meet with our Injection Specialist who will discuss the treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas with each individual patient. We strive to offer every patient the best experience and results possible with every treatment. To schedule your Botox consultation and treatment, please call 561-776-9555 today.

Plastic Surgery Trends

A recent report by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons states that breast augmentation is the most popular cosmetic procedure performed in the U.S. for the second year in a row. These statistics show that 290,467 patients opted for breast augmentation surgery. The popularity of breast augmentation procedures can likely be contributed to a number of factors including the affordability of the procedure, the continued improvement in technology seen each year, and the fact that it caters to a very large percentage of the population.

Data shows that an estimated 17.1 million surgical and minimally invasive cosmetic procedures were performed in 2016. Cosmetic surgical procedures saw an overall increase of 4 percent, compared to minimally invasive procedures, which grew by only 3 percent.

Additionally, facelifts were found to have increased in popularity in the past year. Also among the most popular plastic surgery procedures were; liposuction with 235,237 procedures, nose reshaping with 223,018 procedures, and eyelid surgery with 209,020 procedures.

Botulinum Toxin Type A was among the minimally invasive procedures which saw the greatest increase of 4 percent in 2016. This procedure is followed by soft tissue fillers, chemical peels, laser hair removal and microdermabrasion.

Fat grafting is another procedure which has seen a recent increase. Specifically breast augmentation using fat grafting saw of 72 percent increase in 2016. This procedure involves harvesting fat from one body part and placing it into another body part, commonly the buttocks and breasts. It is said that this trend can be attributed to the idea of “less is more,” which is an ideology that is gaining popularity in plastic surgery.

It is also speculated that the increase in social media and online resources have played a significant role in the type of plastic surgery procedures requested by patients. This combined with improvements in technology are showing patients that there are techniques which can provide more natural-looking results.

Estetica Institute is a state-of-the-art plastic surgery center located in Palm Beach Gardens providing patients with premier cosmetic surgery procedures.
