Botox®

Also known as botulinum toxin type A, Botox® is an FDA-approved injectable substance that has been proven to treat wrinkles. By blocking the release of acetylcholine a wrinkle-causing chemical released by our nerve cells. Botox® is able to paralyze the muscle, stop the contraction and, in effect, erase the wrinkle.

The Botox® procedures are generally short and painless. Our highly trained and expert technician, Desiree Panganiban, MSN, ARNP, ANP-BC Board Certified Adult Nurse Practitioner, performs the procedure, which only takes a few minutes. Desiree will use a very fine needle to inject the diluted botulinum toxin type A solution into the targeted facial muscles. Your facial muscles will be relaxed and wrinkle-free, leaving you with a fresh, rejuvenated appearance, once the Botox® takes effect.

Reasons for considering Botox®

If you’re unhappy with the look of your facial wrinkles but you’re not yet ready to go under the knife, Botox® may be the perfect solution for you. Botox® is helpful in reducing the appearance of forehead creases, crow’s feet and laugh lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth.

In addition, Botox® has been approved to treat the following disorders:

  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)
  • Migraines
  • Dystonia (muscle spasms)
  • Jaw tension
  • Chronic pain
  • Lazy eye
  • Uncontrolled blinking

How is the procedure performed? What is the recovery process?

Often referred to as a lunchtime procedure, Botox® patients experience very little down time. Once you’ve had your injection, you’re able to resume normal daily activities immediately. Side effects remain limited to some minor bruising and headaches, as well there are no incisions, bandages or anything of the like.

We advise you to refrain from laying down for four hours or rubbing the treated area for at least 12 hours after the procedure, as this could cause the solution to migrate to other areas of the body.

Our patients report phenomenal results, with their skin looking younger and more supple following the injection. Botox® is not a permanent fix, however. While results last between four and six months, the treated muscles will eventually regain their ability to contract and the wrinkles will reappear. So you may need to have a follow-up injection at this point.

Because each patient has different needs when it comes to treatment areas, Botox® prices may vary. We recommend calling our offices at 561.776.9555 to set up your initial consultation, where one of our surgeons or expert injector can assess your specific needs and discuss average prices. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about the procedure.

One of the key drivers of the price of Botox is the price per unit. Consequently, at the Estetica Institute, we work to make our treatments more accessible to more patients.
