What is RADIESSE®?
RADIESSE is a wrinkle filler used to plump the skin. RADIESSE is injected through a small needle and placed under the skin and is intended for soft tissue augmentation and restoration of the face to restore lost of facial fat. Radiesse is comprised of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHa) microspheres suspended in an aqueous gel carrier. The benefits of RADIESSE continue by naturally stimulating your body’s own natural collagen. The natural results have been shown to last a year or more in many patients, making the treatment results both immediate and long lasting.
Our practitioners at Estetica institute highly recommend this filler for support and to add volume to the cheeks, nasolabial folds and the marionette lines. In addition, Radiesse is the only FDA approved filler to be used to rejuvenate and add volume to the aging hands.
How does Radiesse works?
As we continue to age our skin loses natural support structures that keep skin supple and youthful. As the years go by, collagen and elastin diminish within the skin, and this can result in wrinkles and creases.
Radiesse is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss. Radiesse results in aesthetic improvement and provides an increase in the skin thickness. Visible results appear at the first treatment session. Radiesse will not correct the underlying cause of the facial fat loss but will improve appearance in the treated area. Once injected, it provides immediate volume and correction but continues to work by stimulating the body to produce its own natural collagen. Over time, the gel is absorbed and the body metabolizes the CaHA microspheres leaving behind only your own natural collagen.
At Estetica Institute our practitioners will decide the number of treatment sessions and the amount of Radiesse needed at each treatment. Generally, significant augmentation or restoration may be achieved in the first treatment. Treatment effects will differ for each person. In a clinical study, the treatment lasted for 1 year after the first treatment in all patients.
As with any injections, injections with Radiesse may have some discomfort. A local anesthetic is mixed within the product and numbing cream plus topical ice is used to lower the discomfort level.
Immediately following a treatment session with Radiesse, redness, bruising or swelling may occur in the treatment area. These signs usually go away in a short period and are generally mild in nature. An ice pack may be applied to the treatment area to help reduce swelling. At Estetica Institute our staff will instruct each patient on specific post-treatment care instructions.
In general, the cost of Radiesse injections falls ranges from about $600 to $900. Radiesse is usually sold by the syringe (1.5 CC), so the cost of Radiesse depends on the amount of product needed to achieve the desired results.
